MY IDEA PROGRAM

Creativity and innovativeness are traits that show up early on in an individual. This is the insight driving the My Idea Programme, an initiative that targets the student community.

Designed as a two-phase competition, The My Idea Programme encourages the student community to pursue their ideas and innovate solutions to important social problems. The Programme stresses ideas for solving problems in agriculture, dairy, water and energy.

Phase 1 of the My Idea Programme is an intra-college contest of ideas. Through the contest, students are selected and recognised with certificates and cash prizes, sponsored by L-RAMP. Ideas are evaluated for technical and economic feasibility, innovativeness, social impact and potential for commercialisation, to name a few criteria.

Phase 2 of the My Idea Programme, winners from Phase 1 participate in an inter-college contest and also in capacity building workshops on innovation and commercialisation of technology.

To promote a sustainable culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among student community ,which will lead to a whole new value product.

“Let us do great things together” the motto of IETE student’s chapter has kept us inspired with new aspirations and goals.

IETE Students Chapter laid its foundation in VIT University  in the year 2001.

Our basic goal is to create a general awareness in electrical, electronics and communication field.

Rules and Regulations

1. Participants are supposed to mail tha abstract at tbicoordinator@vit.ac.in

2. Last date for abstract submission: August 25, 2008.

3. Maximum of Two Members per team.

4. Event Date: September 2, 2008.

5. Shortlisted Teams should prepare a presentation and each team will be given 10 minutes of time to present the same.

Ideas on topics other than those mentioned in Topics section are also welcome, if they come under the purview of the streams mentioned.

• Certificates to all the Shortlisted team members.
• Cash Prizes of Rs.3000, Rs. 2000, Rs.1000 for the first three winners respectively.
• Five best ideas will be selected for Phase II to be held at IIT,Chennai.
